The SMED·WAGNER project

a co-creational voyage of becoming one business brain.

Between 2019 and 2021, Patricia Wagner and I collaborated on a challenging and extensive fashion project in an experimental and curiosity-driven attempt to join forces and explore methods of co-creation.

This collaborative journey has been a significant learning experience on multiple fronts. I have honed skills and acquired knowledge spanning various domains, including collection development, various co-creative processes, industry collaborations, knitwear and weaving development, graphic design, tailoring, an array of business theories, practical business model exercises, and diverse methods for creating a start-up.

Together, we developed our fashion design Bachelor's graduation collection called “Dimension Explorers“. Building on that experience, we pursued a shared Master's degree at the University of the Arts Berlin, continuing the exploration. During our Bachelor's project, we collaborated with various manufacturers across Europe and secured several sponsorships.

In our Master's year we delved deeper, researched and tested the potential for establishing a new Berlin-based fashion brand. Following the completion of our Master's degrees, we were granted a Start-Up Stipendium at DesignFarm Berlin. Here, we continued refining our collaborative efforts, focusing on potential joint ventures and the development of a sustainable business model. Transitioning from a student mindset to an entrepreneurial one has been an inspiring evolution.

Our beloved mentors throughout the whole process has been Prof. Valeska Schmidt-Thomsen and KM Magdalena Kohler.
