Between 2019 and 2022 I’ve been doing volunteer community work at Torhaus, a small gatekeeper house in front of the Tempelhofer Airport in Berlin.
The Torhaus is a self-organised and self-managed community space and acts as a platform for projects and ideas that wish to test creative forms of urban participation and joint design.
My involvement has been more or less intensely doing a great amount of work behind the scenes in the creation of the Torhaus e.V association and especially co-creating the participatory THF Radio. I was a member of the core team running the radio for the first two years where we organised regular meetings both in person and online, created a curation team to manage the growing amount of show requests and developed THF Radio’s Code of Conduct. I also took part in the strategy & long-term planning process, provided technical supervision on a regular bases and managed the onboarding new members.
In 2019 we began as a small handful of people which within the pandemic grew organically into a radio community with over 100 people joining either as guests or regular radio hosts. I also hosted a bi-monthly show called Chemical Weather Report w/ DJ Spamfilter (see seperate page for this project).
